Welcome to ECHO. This game includes quests that have been designed to prepare us for a special event on October 30. That day, the game ends. According to our most recent calibrations, on October 30 at 9pm (Central Time) at least one portal will open from the Regenstein Library to an indeterminate world. We’ve received transmissions from so-called “echoes” who indicate that we will face a series of challenges from a group working on what they call the “Portal System.” We’ll need all the help we can get.
On this Quest Page, you will receive three bundles of quests on October 9, 16, and 23. Each team can complete any or all of these quests for points. Points will determine your position on the leaderboard. The top 4 teams atop the leaderboard at the conclusion of the game will receive prizes. We will only accept one team submission per quest. Certain select quests will include bonus points for the quality of the submissions as adjudicated by the Fourcaster central game board. For bonus point consideration, please submit your quest by Thursday at midnight in the week after it was released (e.g., bonus points for a quest released on October 9 will be due on October 15).
Please submit all quests under the appropriate Google form submission link. Video submissions should be no more than 10 minutes in length and should be uploaded directly to the Google form. We will also accept links to videos through YouTube or Vimeo as well as external cloud service folders such as Uchicago Box, Google Drive, or DropBox. If you use a cloud service, be sure to give permission to ash@fourcastlab.com.
